Acne Scar Reduction

Kaya´s Acne Scar Reduction service uses Microdermabrasion to reduce the acne scars on your skin. A controlled flow of crystals is used to gently exfoliate the uppermost superficial dead layers of the skin, and stimulate cell and collagen production. This evens out your skin’s tone and texture, while diminishing the appearance of the scars.

The removal of the superficial layer of skin evens out skin texture while diminishing the appearance of the scars. It further works on the pigmentation blemishes and gives way to clearer, fresher skin.

The scars once diminished will stay that way making your skin appear better toned and even textured. The service can be used in synergy with chemical peels for better results and can also be undertaken as part of regular skin care regime. However, to enhance the results you need a regular home care regime. Choose from the extensive Kaya product range.

  • How is Acne Scar Reduction different from Skin Polishing & Brightening? In acne scar reduction the full face is polished in addition to scientifically designed extra passes on the acne scars in order to reduce their visibility, where as in skin polishing only a single pass of Microdermabrasion is done.
  • How long does the service take? The service usually lasts about 45 minutes per session. Hence you can even get it done during your lunchtime. At least 4 sessions are recommended to see visible results.
  • Is it safe? Yes, Kaya's Acne Scar Reduction is a safe procedure and is recommended for all skin types. At Kaya Skin Clinic, as an added precaution, a crystal sensitivity check is done on the forearm prior to the first session.
  • Is there any post care involved? Kaya's Acne Scar Reduction service requires minimum post service care. You can resume normal activities immediately. However in some cases of sensitive skin, direct exposure to sunlight should be avoided and a sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 15 should be used regularly. Due to the exfoliation action the immediate effect can be reddening of the skin, which subsides within hours. In extra sensitive skin, the effect lasts a day. Therefore, it is not advisable to undergo this service on the day you have an event / occasion to attend. Ideally you should do it 2 to 3 days in advance.
